Can I join CMG with no experience?
Absolutely! Some of our best support workers have made the decision to join CMG after having tried different career options – either while still young or later in life. We often hear in interviews of people saying that they’ve tried other things, but now want to “give something back” or “make a difference”. These are great reasons to consider support work.
We have an award winning training team, who will support you, along with your manager and colleagues as you start your journey with CMG and right through your career. You will be paid to attend your training, which is tailored to the service users you will be supporting, and you will also have the opportunity to gain qualifications in Health and Social Care.
We just need you to have the right attitude – a good mix of being a hard and dedicated worker, who enjoys life and wants to help others do the same. No two service users are the same, and they need you to be responsive to their needs and ambitions, whether they are independent and capable or have limited mobility or are non-verbal.
It’s sometimes a challenging job, but support is always there. As one support worker said “to be able to go home at the end of each day knowing I made someone smile, is just the best.”
