The Mayor of Brighton, Councillor Lynda Hyde, cut the ribbon on a brand new community development centre for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
Deer Lodge, which is on Dyke Road in Hove, will support people with developing social, communication and life skills. The centre will provide activities such as hydrotheraphy sessions in its state-of-the-art pool, music and movement classes and drama workshops.
On the day of the opening, the Mayor met staff at Deer Lodge and some of the people centre will support.
Peter Kinsey, Chief Executive of CMG, said:
“We are delighted to be opening this centre. It will provide people with learning disabilities in the area with the chance to take part in a range of activities, all aimed at helping them live happy and independent lives.”
