What a great couple of weeks we’ve had at CMG, with the announcement this week of further CQC Outstanding rated service! This time at Alderwood, which is a subsidiary of CMG, and supports some of the country’s most challenging people (Alderwood also recently featured on Channel 4’s Dispatches documentary: Under Lock and Key for the fantastic work they did with individuals leaving hospital settings).
All of Alderwood’s existing six services are currently rated an overall ‘Good’: with each of these services rated with a ‘Good’ for ‘Safe’, ‘Effective’, ‘Caring’ and ‘Responsive’ and an ‘Outstanding’ for ‘Well Led’. As you know in order to obtain an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating, CQC require services to achieve at least two ‘Outstanding’ rated categories.
So we were delighted to hear that Alderwood’s seventh service, Cransley, has just received and overall ‘Outstanding’ rating (with three categories achieving ‘Outstanding’). My congratulations to everyone at Alderwood for their exceptional hard work. I am delighted to say that CMG Group overall now has five Outstanding rated services, which is more than any other major learning disability provider. An excellent achievement for all concerned.
This is just one of the many great quotes from the CQC Inspector about Cransley:
“People’s experiences of care were overwhelmingly positive. They told us that they were consistently looked after by staff that were exceptionally caring, understanding and compassionate. People felt like they mattered, they told us that staff were patient, and demonstrated empathy in how they spoke with them. The service had received numerous compliments for their caring ethos, which meant that people felt part of an extended caring family.”
